ShirleyW. No one called the police. After I went to the doctor to check out the dog bite, the doctor informed me I needed to file a police report so the dog would be quarantined for a few days to make sure the dog did not have rabies.

A woman answered the door and I start in on my presentation, and she grabs my wrist and starts to pray for me. ..... When I was much younger, I remember a women shouting and yelling at us to get off her property, she was so hateful and angry, and at the time I was wondering why would she be so angry with us, we are such loving people. (Now I can definitely understand this women's frustration) .... when I was a teen I was in a group with all brothers and we had just left a door where this very attractive woman answers the door without clothes she's hiding behind the door. And all afternoon I had to hear lame jokes in the car group about offering her some magazines or tracts to use to cover herself up.....the year I pioneered, I backed my car into a kitten, no one was home, I took it to the vet and brought it back to the house with a note and some medicine! :( ....... we just had a talk about avoiding *private property * the week before and so, I'm telling everyone in the car group hey there is a *private property * sign in the window of that house maybe we shouldn't go there, and the other pioneer sister says well it's inside the house, we're not going inside the house. So I end up going to this door and no one answers, I turn around and this huge dog is on the porch, he's chained, and starts to come after me, I start running in my high heels thinking I can out run this dog, nope, he gets a good bite out of my ass, before i can get to a safe place where his chain stops. The guy finally comes out of the house and ends up taking the magazines!!!! I file a police report about it and of course the officer is like "you did see the sign right!".......... in the middle of the work week we work this dead street(no one home) and we come to this door and someone had left their set of keys sitting right in the door. We just left them with a magazine of course.

JW Double Standards and Hypocrisy in the Congregation!!!
by Christian Gutierrez ini am sure you have stories as well of elders being a hard ass on many, yet turning a blind eye to the 'sins' of their own family or close connections.
cheers everyone!

Growing up I never understood why beards were not allowed but most of the people depicted from the Bible in the publications had beards.

Sex & Divorce
by IMHO in1. you can't have sex until your married.. 2. you're not married until you've gone through a legal ceremony.. 3. you get 'unscriptually' (although legally) divorced therefore not 'free' to remarry'.
4. can you still 'scriptually' have sex with your former spouse?.

a long time ago I remember my cousin saying an elder gave her a hard time in just seeing her riding around in a car together with just her ex husband... So my assumption was it would not be ok. -

I don't like the person i am becoming...
by SpunkedTeen ini have not been active here lately just lurking mostly but i have no one to talk to and i need some help i guess.i started working out and became friends with my personal trainer(we went to school together).i started going out with him(lying to my mother about what i was doing, another thing to add to the list of lies,it's becoming too easy!
) and i notice i'm slowly becoming the worldy people that the jw's described.i've become very selfish and rude and very apathetic towards everything and everyone.i always thought the values that jw's taught were really good.if i cut ties with the only friend i have now , i would probably slip into a deep depression and i that is something that i want to avoid at all costs.i start university in january and my plan was to stick it out in the organisation until i got my degree and became fully independant but as of late a elder told me i am being considered to become a m.s and told me what i need to work on and since then the other elders have been nagging me to work on the same things.i'm trying to rid my self of my 'priveleges' in the cong but nothings working...if anyone has experienced a similar situation what advice would you give?
, oh and my mom was always super into the religion having been a pioneer and bethel worker for years but we went to the regional convention two weeks ago and now she is even more exasperating (for example a sister asked my why i was 19 years old and not a ms or serving at bethel yet, which is fine i've learnt how to deal with these questions but when i told my mother whom has always been content with me just being in the religion and never pushed me towards anything asked me if i was happy with what i was and if i would not be happier at bethel or regular pioneering.

It's not going to be easy either direction that you decide. I was your age when I wanted out and I made a lot self destructive decisions that I'm still living with 10 years later. Decide now how you want to live your life without the org. Making your decisions. Don't think about how others will see you, but think about how you will feel about the decisions you make for yoursef. -

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?
by HereIgo ini have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

?? Question for those that have successfully faded/are out:
by Darth Fader The Sequel inquestion: can any of you that have successfully faded out of the jw world without being df'd or da'd relate to me/us how you were able to maintain at least one or a few of your "still in" friends or family?
(and even if you were df'd or da'd and still maintained some relationships, how did that go?).
obviously, the truly demented, sick and twisted (and highly effective) policies and structure of the wtbt$ to set up a system by which anyone that chooses to no longer believe or participate must be treated as "mentally diseased" and a pariah by their own friends and family is the hands down, numero uno reason why many hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of jw's do not leave.

I lost my friends but my family sticks around. I do the best I can not to get upset when my mom tries to tell her view points to my son and she doesn't get upset with me that I'm not making an effort. Its kind of a give and take situation. Of not making it a big deal -

Adult Homework and Extra Credit
by lovesjehovah init seems that once we became sensible adult humans, we lost our way.
we stopped asking questions.
we submitted to the bidding of the world.

Pay it forward. I think community and helping each other would go a long way. All age groups associating with each other, without judgments or a since of entitlement -

27 years that's a long time. I would test the waters and just stop going to meetings. For me it was embarrassing trying to go to meetings without the family. And I eventually gave up. I had doubts of my own for awhile as well. And If she is as dedicated to the religion she will stay faithfully married unless someone cheats..right?
